Now's your chance to let it all out!
Are you a budding cartoonist, critic, artist, reporter, designer, writer or photographer? Get your work into New Zealand’s largest daily newspaper with The College Herald.
We feature work from as wide a range of people as possible. All ages, skills and viewpoints are welcome. It could be something you did for class ages ago, or it could be something you’ve created specially for The College Herald.
We’re looking for anything that says what you want to say. This could include:
Articles, Letters to the editor, Photographs, Cartoons, Interviews, Poetry, Music, Film and TV reviews, Investigative journalism, Art, or Graphic design.
Choose a theme to get started
Each College Herald issue is based around a Weekly Theme. Alternatively, choose from our list of General Themes , and use them as a springboard for your imagination. Or maybe there's another subject you're passionate about. Even if it’s not on our theme list, we want to hear about it.
Get it in – to let it out
Once you’ve created some work that you think is worth publishing, you’ll need to submit it to The College Herald. You can submit your work on-line, or print it out, complete an entry form and mail it in. Remember to get a teacher to authorise your entry. It’s easy.
The rewards of success
Get published and your work will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people around the country. What’s more, 399 students will win either a Olympus SP-600UZ Digital Camera plus $500 for their school or a $100 JB HiFi voucher. Plus everyone who submits a piece of work will be in the weekly draw to win a Olympus mju-5010 Digital Camera – whether published or not.
